Meisam Tabatabaei is an Associate Professor of Environmental Biotechnology (Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia) and is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of Biofuel Research Journal (BRJ) in Canada. Over the last decade, Meisam has been working closely with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to promote waste-oriented biofuels in the developing world. Since 2016, he has been the lead collaborator of the Lancet Commission on Public Health and Climate Change (UCL, UK). He has published over 250 publications, including original research papers and reviews in journals such as The Lancet (Impact Factor: 60.392), Progress in Energy and Combustion Sciences (Impact Factor: 28.940), Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (Impact Factor: 12.110), etc. (Citations: 10400, h-index: 52, i10 index: 180; December 2020, Google Scholar). The Cumulative Impact Factor of Meisam's publications stands at over 1000. He is currently also a Visiting Professor at the Henan Agricultural University (China). Dr. Tabatabaei has been listed on the Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers List (Top 1% scientists in the world) in Engineering Category since 2017. Mhd Ikhwanuddin is a Professor and Director of Higher Institution Centre of Excellence, Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and currently holds the position of Editor in Chief of UMT journal, Journal of Sustainability Science and Management. Professor Ikhwanuddin also a Visiting Professor and co-founder of Joint Shellfish Research Laboratory at Shantou University, China and have been working on invertebrate research, especially crustacean since 2009. He is also Visiting Researcher at National Taiwan Ocean University, China since 2018. He has published over 200 publications, including original research papers and reviews in journals with first ranking in the field of Fisheries category, Reviews in Aquaculture, as well as others well-known aquaculture journal such as Aquaculture, Aquaculture Research and Aquaculture Reports. He is also the Editorial/Advisory Board of international journal such as Frontiers in Marine Sciences and Indonesian Aquaculture Journal. He has built his international collaborator at all five continents at the last five years, and currently holds the records among the most cited aquaculture researcher in Malaysia. He has successfully published various shellfish related books and received various national award for his book publication, research, and development. Professor Ikhwanuddin also received various research grants from industry, national funder as well as international collaborator.

Christian Sonne is a Professor, DVM, PhD, DScVetMed (dr.med.vet.), Dipl. ECZM-EBVS at Aarhus University. I have since 1997 specialized myself in the cross-field of biological effects from exposure to environmental chemicals, diseases and climate change. This has given me a unique insight and profile working with a broad range of animals including predatory mammals, raptorial birds, sea birds, fish and partly Humans. I have a broad insight and interest in internal and reproductive organs (histopathology, size, and morphology), skeletal system (bone density and morphology using e.g. DXA scanning), immune system (intra dermal testing of lymphocyte functioning, immune globulin production and cytokine and APP expressions), endocrine system (steroid and peptide hormones), PBPK modelling, blood biochemistry and infectious diseases (zoonosis). I use my global network to obtain interdisciplinary research results. Since 2015 I have applied my in-depth knowledge and understanding of biological processes to also include specific un-solved wildlife issues in Denmark (eider duck population declines) and health of raptors. Recently my innovative approaches have led among others to the first interactions with private industry focusing on natural resources developments and translational medicine within insulation, osteoporosis and metabolic syndrome. Additionally specialised in surgical field implantations of intra-coelomic (abdominally) and subcutaneously satellite transmitters (PTTs) in various sea bird species and immobilization of deer spp.

Profile Dr. Jörg Rinklebe is a Professor for Soil- and Groundwater-Management at the University of Wuppertal, Germany. His academic background covers environmental science, bioavailability of emerging contaminants, and remediation of contaminated soils using value-added products such as biochar. He works at various scales, ecosystems, and spheres including pedosphere, hydrosphere lithosphere, biosphere, and atmosphere and has a certain experience in fundamental soil science. His main research is on soils, sediments, waters, plants, and their pollutions (trace elements and nutrients) and linked biogeochemical issues with a special focus in redox chemistry. He also has a certain expertise in soil microbiology. Professor Rinklebe is internationally recognized particularly for his research in the areas of biogeochemistry of trace elements in wetland soils. He published plenty of scientific papers in leading international and national journals. According to SCOPUS (16.06.2020), Professor Rinklebe published over 236 research papers, 17 were nominated in the in ISI web of Science as "Highly Cited Papers" and 1 was nominated as "Hot Paper". These papers have been cited 6638 time in Scopus with h-index = 44. Based on these citations, Prof Rinklebe has been selected as ISI Web of Science Globally Highly Cited Researcher in 2019. Also, he published two books entitled "Trace Elements in Waterlogged Soils and Sediments” (2016), “Nickel in Soils and Plants” (2018), and “Soil and Groundwater Remediation Technologies” (2020), as well as numerous book chapters. Dr. Mortaza Aghbashlo is an Associate Professor of University of Tehran. He received his MSc and PhD from the University of Tehran in 2008 and 2012, respectively. He also received the University of Tehran’s award for Excellence in Research in 2008 and 2012. He has co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters (h-index: 49, i10-index: 140). His research interest is primarily focused on thermodynamics modeling of renewable energy and bioproducts processing systems.

Professor Fares Almomani joined the Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering of Qatar University as Associate Professor in 2014. Dr. Fares received his Ph.D in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from Barcelona University, Spain in 2003. After his Ph.D., he became a Postdoctoral fellow in the University of Alberta in 2003 working on advanced wastewater treatment technologies. He then worked at Mutah University, Jordan from 2004-2011 as an assistant and associate professor. In 2011 Dr. Almomani moved to Canada and worked at University of Ottawa and Carleton University. Dr. Almomani’s research experiences involve Advanced Oxidation Technologies,  developing a novel approach to measure the kinetics of ozonation reaction, Fundamental application of biofilms technology in wastewater treatment, developing an in-line and real-time method to measure polymer concentrations in water and wastewater treatment processes, use of microalgae as advanced wastewater treatment.

Maxwell Boykoff is the Director of the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research, which is part of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder. He also is an Associate Professor in the Environmental Studies program and is Adjunct faculty in the Geography Department. In addition, Max is a Senior Visiting Research Associate in the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from the University of California-Santa Cruz and Bachelor of Sciences in Psychology from The Ohio State University.

Max has ongoing interests in cultural politics and environmental governance, science and environmental communications, science-policy interactions, political economy and the environment, and climate adaptation He has experience working in North America, Central America, South Asia, Oceania and Europe, and is a co-author and editor of seven books and edited volumes, along with over fifty articles and book chapters. 

Shabbir H. Gheewala is a professor at the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), Thailand where he teaches Life Cycle Assessment and heads the Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment Lab for almost 15 years. He also holds an adjunct professorship at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, USA, and a Distinguished Adjunct Professor position at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. His research focuses on sustainability assessment of energy systems; sustainability indicators; and certification issues in biofuels and agro-industry. He is a national expert on life cycle inventory as well as product carbon footprinting in Thailand and a steering committee member of the Life Cycle Impact Assessment flagship of the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Initiative. Shabbir mentors the research network on LCA and policy for food, fuel and climate change in Thailand.

He is on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment, Energy for Sustainable Development and the Journal of Sustainable Energy and Environment.

Dr. Vijai Kumar Gupta is the Senior Challenge Research Fellow at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) in Scotland. Prior to that, Vijai was served as a Senior Scientist, ERA Chair of Green Chemistry, in Tallinn University of Technology (TUT), Tallinn, Estonia. He is the Secretary of European Mycological Association, Country Ambassador of American Society of Microbiology and most recently he has been awarded with-Distinguish International Professors-ship by IFST, CAAS, China.

He is the Fellow of- Linnaean Society (FLS), London, UK; Mycological Society of India (FMSI) India; Indian Mycological Association (FIMS), India; Associate Fellow-National Academy of Biological Sciences (Asso FNABS), India; Foreign Academics of Mexican Academy of Sciences, Arts, Technology and Humanities, Mexico.

He is the editor of well reputed journals including, BMC Microbiology, BMC Fungal Biology and Biotechnology, Microbial Cell Factories, Microbiome, Mycosphere, PLOS One, Scientific Reports, Biomolecules, and has edited 28 books, for internationally reputed publishers like Elsevier Press, Wiley-Blackwell, Taylor and Francis, Springer-Nature, CABI and De Gruyter. Also, his h-index is 26 and has many papers in his hands in internationally well reputed journals and developed few IPs in the area of microbial biotechnology for sustainable product developments.

Su Shiung Lam holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University, and is a Full Professor at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), currently the Deputy Director of International Centre under the Office of Deputy Vice Chancellor, and a Core Member of Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries (AKUATROP), accredited as the Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE) for Future Food: Sustainable Shellfish Aquaculture by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.

He leads a research group working mainly on Chemical & Environmental Engineering, focusing on Waste and Biomass Utilization, Waste and Wastewater Treatment, and Green Technology. Lam is active in research on the application of pyrolysis and microwave heating in transforming waste and biomass into green energy and products applicable to industry and environmental protection.

He has published over 200 papers, some of which are published in journals such as one published in Lancet (Impact Factor: 60.4), one published in Nature (Impact Factor: 42.8), 4 published in Science (Impact Factor: 41.8), one published in Progress in Energy and Combustion Science (Impact Factor: 28.9), 7 published in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (Impact Factor: 12.1), 8 currently ranked as Web of Science ESI "Highly Cited Papers" (Top 1%) and 1 as ESI Hot paper (Top 0.1%), receiving a H-index of 40 and >4000 citations in Google Scholar. He has filed patent and to scale up and commercialize a pyrolysis platform technology. These prototypes are currently used by waste operators for energy conversion and waste to wealth applications.

Omid Mahian is a full professor and doctoral supervi- sor at Xi’an Jiaotong University. Currently, he is a mem- ber of the Editorial Board of Energy (Elsevier) and Renew- able Energy (Elsevier) journals, a senior associate editor of Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (Springer), an associate editor of Alexandria Engineering Journal, and an associate editor in J. Thermal Science (Springer). He has been a reviewer for more than 100 international jour- nals. In recent years, his research direction mainly in- cludes the application of nanotechnology in renewable energy (such as nanofluids application in solar collector and solar desalination) and entropy generation and ex- ergy analysis in energy systems. So far, he has published more than 160 SCI papers. Omid holds an h-index of 53 and more than 9300 cita- tions (January 2021, Google Scholar). He has papers in top journals including Physics Report and Nano Energy. He has been selected as a highly cited researcher for three consecutive years (2018, 2019, 2020) by Web of Science. He has received several in- ternational awards from conferences and innovation exhibitions for his contribution in the field of heat transfer and renewable energy.

Maziar Moradi-Lakeh MD MPH is a Medical Doctor with post-graduate education in Public Health, Community Medicine and Global Health and is a full professor at Iran University of Medical Sciences. After more than 15 years of academic job in Iran and the United States, he started working as the director of Optimax Access in California, and head of the Clinical Research Team. His experience is mainly related to the fields of Health Metrics and Evaluation Sciences, Health Economics and Outcome Research, Disease Epidemiology and Burden of Disease. Dr. Moradi-Lakeh has contributed to more than 200 scientific papers, as well as other publications such as clinical guidelines, policy documents and educational books. His publications have been extensively cited so far and impacted health policies and programs.

Deepak Pant (PhD, Environmental Biotechnology, 2007) is a Senior Scientist at the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO), Belgium currently working on bioenergy, specifically, the design and optimization of bio-electrochemical systems for energy recovery from wastewater and microbial electrosynthesis for production of value-added chemicals and fuels through electrochemically driven bio-processes. Previously, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow (2008–2010) at the University of Antwerp. 

He has 1 book (published by Springer), 1 Patent, 55 peer-reviewed publications with >2600 citations (h-index 25) and 16 book chapters to his credit. He is involved in several European projects on biomass, bio-waste, wastewater treatment, and feasibility studies. He is a member of several scientific communities including ISE, BES, BRSI, IFIBiop, and AMI. Dr. Deepak Pant is serving as Editorial Board Member for the Journals: ‘Bioresource Technology’, ‘Electronic Journal of Biotechnology’, ‘Heliyon’, ‘Frontiers in Environmental Science’ and ‘The Scientific World Journal’. He has edited special issues for ‘Sustainability’, ‘Materials’ and ‘International Journal of Molecular Sciences’. Francesco Quatraro is a full professor of economics at the Department of Economics and Statistics Cognetti de Martiis (University of Turin); affiliate at the BRICK, Collegio Carlo Alberto and external affiliate at the GREDEG (CNRS and Univeristé Cote d' Azur). He is the Director of the PhD Programme in Innovation for the Circular Economy at the University of Torino. Francesco is also the Director of the ICxT Innovation Center at the University of Torino. He serves as the co-editor of the journal Spatial Economic Analysis (Regional Studies Association). Prof. Quatraro has been Maitre de Conference at the GREDEG, CNRS and University of Nice Sophia Antipolis; visiting scholar at the Columbia University of New York and at the CRIC, Victoria University of Manchester. I obtained my PhD at the Department of Economics, University of Turin. Hresearch interests include Economics of Innovation, Green Economy and Eco-Innovation, Economic Geography, Industrial Economics, Economics of Knowledge Production and Distribution, ICTs and Development Economics. Francesco`s core research area is the empirical investigation of the patterns of knowledge creation in sectors and regions, as well as of their differential effects on economic performances.

Professor Elizabeth Robinson is an environmental economist, specialising in the management of natural resources in low and middle income countries. She has first class honours degree from Oxford University in Engineering, Economics, and Management; and a PhD in Applied Economics from Stanford University in the US, where her thesis addressed the evolution of property rights over land within an optimal enforcement framework. Elizabeth has lived and worked in Tanzania and Ghana for over six years, and spent a sabbatical at Peking University, Beijing, China. She is currently on the journal Environment and Development Economics editorial board; Co-editor for Environmental and Resource Economics; and a Research Associate with the Sida-funded Environment for Development Initiative. Prof. Robinson also holds an associate position at the University of Gothenburg, and at the University of Reading she is a research associate with the Walker Institute for Climate System Research.

Elizabeth is particularly interested in the interface between people and natural resources, with an emphasis on forest and marine-based livelihoods; and the links between climate change, food security, and health.

Dr. Héctor A. Ruiz obtained his Ph.D in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the Centre of Biological Engineering at the University of Minho, Portugal in 2011. He is currently Full Professor in the School of Chemistry at the Autonomous University of Coahuila and founder of Biorefinery Group in the Food Research Department, Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico and leader of the pretreatment step in the Cluster of Bioalcoholes in the Mexican Centre for Innovation in Bioenergy (Cemie-Bio), Mexico. Dr. Ruiz has conducted research in various academic centers, i.e., at the Federal University of Sergipe (Brazil), Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory (CTBE, Brazil), Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at the University of British Columbia (Canada), CIEMAT- Renewable Energy Division, Biofuels Unit (Spain), and University of Jaén (Spain). Héctorhas authored/co-authored many research publications with an h-inex of 14 (Google Scholar Citations).

Professor Ruiz was awarded with the Prize "Dr. Carlos Casas Campillo" of the Mexican Society of Biotechnology and Bioengineering in 2016. This award aims to give recognition and to encourage young researchers for their contribution to the development of biotechnology and bioengineering in Mexico.

Professor Ruiz is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Bioethanol Journal (De Gruyter Open), Associate Editor of BioEnergy Research Journal (Springer), and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Industrial Crops and Products (Elsevier).

Dan is currently an Associate Professor and Programme Leader (EOSH) in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Honorary Associate Professor in the Centre for Mined Land Rehabilitation at the University of Queensland. He was an IMETE Visiting Scholar at Ghent University in Belgium, Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in the US, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and Post-doctoral Fellow at Imperial College London in the UK and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. With a strong link to real-world environmental challenges, Dan’s research group strives to develop low-impact solutions to ensure sustainable development and foster new ways in which we utilize biomass waste, contaminated land, and urban water. Dan has published over 330 SCI journal papers, with an h-index of 41 and total citations over 6000, and currently serves as Associate Editor of Journal of Hazardous Materials, Science of the Total Environment, Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology, as well as Editorial Board Member of Bioresource Technology, Environmental Pollution, and Chemosphere. Dan has also served as Guest Editor of 20+ Special Issues at Environment International, Chemical Engineering Journal, Chemosphere, Journal of Cleaner Production, Bioresource Technology, etc., and received the Young Scientist Award (International Bioprocessing Association) and Excellence in Review Award (Environmental Science and Technology, Resources, Conservation & Recycling, and Chemosphere). Hassan Vatanparast is a Professor with Joint Appointment to the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition and School of Public Health, University of Saskatchewan. Hassan is actively involved in research and health promotion initiatives targeting children’s health and chronic disease. Hassan is leading several projects at the local, national and global levels aimed to improve the nutritional health of the general population, newcomers and indigenous communities. We benefit from a multi-sectorial collaboration in these initiatives. Hassan and his colleagues have published several papers as well as presented their findings at national and international conferences. Hassan and his colleagues continue their collaborative work with the goal of improving the nutritional health of at risk populations.
